About this pathway
Telbivudine is a synthetic nucleoside analog used as an antiviral for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B. It is a prodrug that requires phosphorylation to become active. There are two candidates which may perform the first phosphorylation TK2 and DTYMK and one, NME4, that may perform the second phosphorylation to form the telbivudine triphosphate [Articles:38502357, 18066786].
